What to look for in a Christmas gift for a pickleball player
Paddles are personal, so a starter set suits beginners best.
A portable net lets families play at home or in the park.
Check whether they play indoors or outdoors, as balls differ.
Pickleball suits all ages, so gifts can be shared by the whole family.
Think about their routine. Gifts that fit into everyday life tend to be used the most, long after Christmas is over.
Add a personal touch. A handwritten card or a note about why you chose the gift makes it feel more special.
Keep receipts. A gift receipt makes it easy to swap a colour, size or style if something is not quite right.
Mind the budget. A thoughtful gift does not need to be expensive, and smaller practical items are often appreciated just as much.
Think about experiences. Tickets, a day out or time spent together can be as memorable as a physical gift.
Check delivery dates. Order early in December, as delivery times can stretch in the run-up to Christmas.
Read the product details. Sizes, compatibility and what is included vary, so check the listing carefully before ordering.
Wrap it well. Thoughtful wrapping and a card make even a small gift feel special on Christmas morning.
Think about storage. Check they have space for the gift, especially larger items.
Consider quality over quantity. One well-chosen gift is often better than several things they will not use.
Ask a friend or family member. Someone close to them may know exactly what they already have and what they would love.
Bundle a set. The Pickleball in 60 Seconds: Everything You Need to Know, the G4Free Lightweight Pickleball Backpack and the Glarollirace Pickleball Paddles Set of 2 together came to £93.87 at the prices checked.
