Buying a Christmas gift for a volleyball player is easier when you stick to things they will actually use on the court or the beach. A good ball is always welcome, because training balls wear out and many players like to have their own for practice, and small extras such as a ball bag make it easier to take that ball everywhere. This guide covers five gifts for volleyball players that were in stock on Amazon UK when prices were checked on 23 October 2026, each sold and dispatched by Amazon with a live buy-box price and a UK delivery date shown for late October. Our overall pick is the Molten V5M4000 at £32.99, a size 5 indoor ball that the listing describes as FIVB approved. For a fun budget gift, the Wilson Mr. Wilson Cast Away mini ball was £14.00, and for relaxed games with family and friends the Wilson Shoreline Soft Volleyball was £18.79. The cheapest gift here is the Wilson AVP single ball bag at £7.59. Prices and delivery dates change often, so check both before you buy.

Our top picks
Best overall: Molten V5M4000 Volleyball (£32.99). This is the most serious ball in the guide and suits a club or league player. The product description calls it a competition volleyball that is FIVB approved, and the listing describes a soft-touch synthetic leather cover, seamless construction and a nylon wound butyl bladder for air retention. The product details list it as size 5 with an item weight of 270 grams, in white, green and red. It is sold and dispatched by Amazon, and a delivery date of 26 October was shown when checked.
Best budget: Wilson Mr. Wilson Cast Away Mini Volleyball (£14.00). This is a novelty gift for a player who also loves films. The product description says it is a replica of the ball used in the film Cast Away, and the listing shows the famous Mr Wilson hand print. The bullets describe it as a mini ball with a PU cover, 18 panel construction and a butyl rubber bladder, so think of it as a desk or shelf piece and a bit of fun rather than a match ball. It is sold and dispatched by Amazon, and a delivery date of 26 October was shown when checked.
Best for families: Wilson Shoreline Soft Volleyball (£18.79). For a player who also likes casual games in the garden, the park or on holiday with the family, this official size ball is a softer choice. The listing describes a soft EVA material, machine-sewn construction and a Pressure Lock bladder for steady air pressure, and says it is made for beach play and indoor summer training as well as schools, clubs and recreational use. It is sold and dispatched by Amazon, and a delivery date of 26 October was shown when checked.
Other gifts for volleyball players
Molten 1300 Soft Training Volleyball (£24.98). A step down in price from the V5M4000, this is a training ball for indoor courts. The listing describes a soft-touch cover that reduces sting on the hands and arms, a butyl bladder and official size and weight, and says it suits beginners, intermediate players and coaches. The product details list an item weight of 270 grams. It is sold and dispatched by Amazon, and a delivery date of 26 October was shown when checked.
Wilson AVP Single Volleyball Ball Bag (£7.59). This small mesh net holds one volleyball. The listing says it has two clips, one to attach it to a bag or rucksack and one to attach it to a zip so it moves less, and the breathable mesh lets the ball air out after a session. It carries the AVP logo and the Wilson W, in black and yellow. It pairs well with any of the balls above as a stocking filler. It is sold and dispatched by Amazon, and a delivery date of 26 October was shown when checked.
What to look for in a gift for a volleyball player
Indoor or beach. Indoor and beach volleyball use different balls. The Molten V5M4000 and Molten 1300 are described as indoor balls, while the Wilson Shoreline Soft is described for beach play and indoor summer training. If you are not sure which they play, ask a teammate or look at the kit they already own.
Match ball or training ball. A competition ball such as the V5M4000, which the listing calls FIVB approved, is a good gift for a club player who wants to practise with the same kind of ball used in matches. A training ball such as the Molten 1300 is cheaper and the listing says its soft-touch cover reduces sting, which suits beginners and younger players.
Size and weight. Adult indoor balls are usually labelled size 5 or official size. The V5M4000 product details list size 5 and 270 grams, and the Molten 1300 lists official size and weight with the same 270 gram item weight. The Mr. Wilson Cast Away ball is described as a mini ball, so it is not a match ball.
Cover and feel. Synthetic leather covers, like the V5M4000's, are made for control in competitive play, while softer covers, like the EVA on the Wilson Shoreline Soft and the soft-touch cover on the Molten 1300, are gentler on the arms for casual games.
Extras and stocking fillers. If they already have a ball they like, a carry bag is a practical extra. The Wilson AVP ball bag holds one ball and clips onto a rucksack.
Seller and delivery. Every gift in this guide was sold and dispatched by Amazon when checked. Some volleyball listings on Amazon UK are sold from abroad by Amazon US, with longer delivery times, so check the seller and the delivery date before you order, and leave time before Christmas.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good gift for a volleyball player?
A good gift is something they will use at training or on the beach. A quality ball is the safest choice, such as the Molten V5M4000 (£32.99 when checked) for a club player or the Wilson Shoreline Soft (£18.79) for casual games. For a smaller gift, the Wilson AVP ball bag (£7.59) or the Mr. Wilson Cast Away mini ball (£14.00) work well.
What is the best volleyball ball?
It depends on where and how they play. For competitive indoor play, our pick is the Molten V5M4000, which its listing describes as an FIVB approved competition ball with a synthetic leather cover. For training, the Molten 1300 has a soft-touch cover, and for beach and recreational games the Wilson Shoreline Soft is made from soft EVA.
How to choose a volleyball ball?
First check whether it is an indoor or a beach ball, then whether it is a competition or training ball. Look at the size and weight on the listing (adult balls are usually official size or size 5), and the cover: synthetic leather for control in matches, or a softer cover that is gentler on the arms for training and casual play.
What size volleyball for adults?
Adults normally play with a full-size ball, which listings call official size or size 5. In this guide the Molten V5M4000 is listed as size 5 at 270 grams, the Molten 1300 as official size and weight, and the Wilson Shoreline Soft as official size. The Mr. Wilson Cast Away ball is described as a mini ball, so it is not meant for adult matches.
