What to look for in a gift for an older man
Budget. The picks here cost between £5.50 and £24.99 when we checked.
Practical over gimmicky. Many older men prefer things they will actually use, such as a good wallet, so think about what is worn out or due for replacing.
Nostalgia. Books about growing up in a particular decade can spark conversations with children and grandchildren over Christmas.
Food gifts. Hampers and biscuits are easy to share, but check dietary needs and allergens on the listing before buying.
Ease of use. Avoid gifts that need complicated setup or an app unless you know he is comfortable with them.
Size and fit. Clothing and slippers need the right size, so a wallet, book or hamper is a safer choice if you are unsure.
Delivery date. Check the delivery date on Amazon so the gift arrives before Christmas.
