What to look for in a Christmas gift for a magician
Decks wear out. Magicians always appreciate fresh playing cards.
Match their level. Beginners like self-working tricks, while experienced performers want new challenges.
Think about performing. A close-up pad makes any table a stage.
Books are great value. Many classic magic books teach dozens of tricks.
Think about their routine. Gifts that fit into everyday life tend to be used the most, long after Christmas is over.
Add a personal touch. A handwritten card or a note about why you chose the gift makes it feel more special.
Keep receipts. A gift receipt makes it easy to swap a colour, size or style if something is not quite right.
Mind the budget. A thoughtful gift does not need to be expensive, and smaller practical items are often appreciated just as much.
Think about experiences. Tickets, a day out or time spent together can be as memorable as a physical gift.
Check delivery dates. Order early in December, as delivery times can stretch in the run-up to Christmas.
Read the product details. Sizes, compatibility and what is included vary, so check the listing carefully before ordering.
Wrap it well. Thoughtful wrapping and a card make even a small gift feel special on Christmas morning.
Think about storage. Check they have space for the gift, especially larger items.
Consider quality over quantity. One well-chosen gift is often better than several things they will not use.
Bundle a set. The Self-working Card Tricks: 72 Foolproof Card Miracles, the Bicycle Standard Index Playing Cards, 2 Decks, Red and Blue and the MMS VDF Close Up Pad with Printed Aces by Di Fatta Magic together came to £26.98 at the prices checked.
