What to look for in a Christmas gift for a gymnast
Always practise skills at home on a mat and with adult supervision.
Check floor space before buying a beam or mat.
Ask their coach which skills are safe to practise at home.
Younger gymnasts love books about the sport and its stars.
Think about their routine. Gifts that fit into everyday life tend to be used the most, long after Christmas is over.
Add a personal touch. A handwritten card or a note about why you chose the gift makes it feel more special.
Keep receipts. A gift receipt makes it easy to swap a colour, size or style if something is not quite right.
Mind the budget. A thoughtful gift does not need to be expensive, and smaller practical items are often appreciated just as much.
Think about experiences. Tickets, a day out or time spent together can be as memorable as a physical gift.
Check delivery dates. Order early in December, as delivery times can stretch in the run-up to Christmas.
Read the product details. Sizes, compatibility and what is included vary, so check the listing carefully before ordering.
Wrap it well. Thoughtful wrapping and a card make even a small gift feel special on Christmas morning.
Think about storage. Check they have space for the gift, especially larger items.
Consider quality over quantity. One well-chosen gift is often better than several things they will not use.
Ask a friend or family member. Someone close to them may know exactly what they already have and what they would love.
Think about how it will be used. A gift that suits their space, schedule and habits is far more likely to become a favourite.
Bundle a set. The Fakcrkun Gymnastics Drawstring Bag, the My Book of Gymnastics (My Book of Sports) and the OZE SPORTS Gymnastic Tumble Exercise Mat together came to £39.07 at the prices checked.
