Our top picks
Best overall: LEGO Technic Deep-Sea Research Submarine 42201 (£26.99). A Technic build with moving parts. The listing says the submarine has rotating propellers, a grabbing arm and a transparent opening cockpit with a seat and controls, plus a barrel accessory.
Best budget: hapray Origami Set for Kids, 152 Sheets (£10.32). A low-cost, screen-free gift. The listing says it includes 144 double-sided 14 x 14 cm origami papers in 72 patterns plus 8 practice sheets and a guide, for children aged 5 to 12.
Best for families: Outsmarted Live Quiz Show Board Game, 2026 UK Edition (£29.99). A family quiz for Christmas Day. The listing says a free app hosts the game, reads out the questions and keeps score, so nobody has to sit out as quizmaster, and gives the age as 8 and up.
Other gifts for 11 year olds
LEGO Editions Cristiano Ronaldo Football Highlights 43012 (£17.49). For a football fan who also likes building. The listing says it is for ages 10 and up, with a base shaped like Ronaldo's initial in Portugal colours, a large CR7, a collectible plaque with player stats and his signature, and a Ronaldo minifigure.
Ravensburger Horrified: Dungeons & Dragons (£20.99). A cooperative strategy game for ages 10 and up. The listing says players work together against monsters and can choose different monster combinations for new matchups each game.
Big Potato Sounds Fishy (£19.99). A bluffing game for ages 10 and up. The listing says everyone gets the real answer and invents a fake one to fool the guesser, so no trivia knowledge is needed.
Mattel Games Blokus (£19.94). A quick-to-learn strategy game. The listing says players each place 21 pieces and the one rule is that pieces of the same colour may only touch at the corners, and it mentions colour-blind accessible pieces.
Hy-Pro UEFA Champions League Football, Size 5 (£15.99). An officially licensed size 5 ball with the Champions League star design, according to the listing.
Tapo TL61-5 5m Smart LED Strip Light (£14.99). A bedroom upgrade. The listing says the 5 m multicolour strip has music sync, works over home Wi-Fi with no hub, and can be controlled with the Tapo app, Alexa or Google Assistant. A parent may need to set it up.

Hobbies. Football, building and crafts are all covered; if they have a clear interest, choose the matching gift.
Smart devices. The Tapo strip needs Wi-Fi and the app to set up, so check the household has a compatible setup.
